“I’m excited to see what unfolds in [Landman] season 3. I mean, we’re talking about season 2, but that’s backstory for us at this point. We’re all kind of looking toward to April and May when we start shooting season 3.”

The news comes as a surprise given Paramount+ has yet to officially renew Landman for season 3. The series’ future was also brought into question after the reveal that co-creator Taylor Sheridan will be leaving Paramount for NBCUniversal after spearheading several of the network’s most popular recent  TV shows and franchises like Yellowstone.

If Landman season 3 does indeed begin filming in April 2026, the next batch of episodes will be repeating the production timeline for season 2, which reportedly began shooting in Texas in early April 2025. The second season was then ready to debut on Paramount+ about seven months later, which means Landman season 3 could premiere as early as November 2026.

Elliott’s update on the series is also good news for Tommy and his father’s Landman season 2 story, as both expecting to return for filming suggests the pair will survive the upcoming episodes’ high-stakes twists. The fate of Jon Hamm’s Monty in Landman season 1’s ending already proved that nobody is truly safe in the hit Paramount+ show, with the Norris family finding themselves in increasingly dangerous positions in season 2.

While there’s still no official announcement from Paramount about Landman season 3’s renewal and beyond, that confirmation may not come until after season 2’s conclusion. Landman season 2’s fate wasn’t officially confirmed until March 2025, two months after the season 1 finale, with production then kicking off within weeks of Paramount’s announcement.
