Teddy Mitchell’s EastEnders exit sparks backlash as fans all say same thing
EastEnders aired a shock prison sentence for Teddy Mitchell following Okie’s murder
EastEnders has confirmed Teddy Mitchell’s fate and and viewers are not happy.
As fans of the BBC soap will know, Harry Mitchell (Elijah Holloway) was held captive by Okie (Aayan Ibikunle Shoderu) before accidentally stabbing him during an altercation.

Okie died of a single stab wound, and Teddy (played by Roland Manookian) has taken the blame for his son and jailed for murder.
Harry has been left devastated as Teddy pleaded guilty to Okie’s death. He threatened to hand himself in to the police before disappearing and leaving his family worried sick.
On Wednesday (December 10), Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) was terrified that Harry would show up at court for Teddy’s sentencing and confess to his crime.

Gina Knight (Francesca Henry) and George (Colin Salmon) took charge of finding Harry, who is suffering from drug addiction, and eventually tracked him down at Container Junction in a vulnerable state.
Gina quickly realised that she didn’t know the whole truth of Harry’s despair, and the mechanic was forced to admit that Teddy was innocent, as it was he who killed Okie.
Harry, Gina, and George arrived in the court during the proceedings, and while the judge was giving her final remarks, leaving Nicola anxious. Teddy shook his head at Harry in an attempt to keep him silent as his son looked on in anguish.
In devastating scenes, the judge informed Teddy that he was sentenced to life imprisonment and would serve a minimum of 20 years behind bars. Teddy was then taken out of the court as Harry was on the verge of confessing.
EastEnders viewers were left reeling at Teddy’s abrupt exit, claiming it was a “waste of a character”.
Actor Roland Manookian has reportedly now left the soap, just 18 months after his first appearance as Teddy, and his tragic final story has unfolded on screen.
Taking to X, one viewer wrote: “Hate the waste they’ve made of Teddy. Hope this gets undone soon!!! #EastEnders”, as a second announced: “Teddy man. Big mistake letting him go. #EastEnders.”
A third chimed in: “Heartbreaking scenes for the Mitchells as they return from seeing Teddy sent down for life in court. What a waste! Teddy deserved so much better than this. He was such a great character with potential.”
“Why on earth don’t they listen to their viewers? We want Jay, Ronnie, Roxy, Ben, and Teddy back!!!!!!!!!!!!! #EastEnders”, stated another.
While another said, “What a waste of a good character! Teddy was a powerhouse #EastEnders.”
